Chivalry Thoroughbred Racing’s immediate team has 100+ years of experience combined across numerous aspects of thoroughbred breeding, training, racing, and sales. In addition, our extended global team of experts is always on the lookout for new thoroughbred talent that fit our specific needs. In the end, we always put the needs and best interests of the horse first.
Data permeates the thoroughbred industry, but sophisticated analytics related to purchasing and selling thoroughbreds is lightly used and a critical differentiator for CTR. We have studied years of sales history to inform our portfolios and narrow specific horses in our targeted public auctions & private purchases. CTR leverages analytics to complement our deep pedigree and conformation expertise to target the best values while aiming to reduce the historically riskier aspects of the sport.
Owning thoroughbreds is a risky and expensive proposition. Putting your eggs in one basket is risky for any type of investment, but especially so for thoroughbred racing. CTR offers partnerships for several types of portfolios, with each portfolio consisting of 2-4 horses. Not only does this help to diversify risk, but it also provides more opportunities for experiencing everything that the industry has to offer.
Through our many years of experience, we have established a set of disciplined principles to guide our thoroughbred selections, management and sales. We will also consistently apply analytics as the market evolves to target opportunities for portfolio wins while avoiding “chasing losses”.
Chivalry Thoroughbred Racing will serve as the Manager of each partnership. We will establish realistic goals for each portfolio, actively manage and adjust as needed, and consistently communicate with transparency.
Our interests are directly aligned with those of our partners as CTR will retain an ownership stake of each portfolio. Our advisory team is also uniquely incentivized to maximize the performance of each partnership.
